From Backcountry to Gallery, Wilderness Watercolours

I’m am absolutely tickled to be the artist in residence at our local artists guild gallery in Tsawwassen this month.
Come and see what’s in my backcountry plein air pack, how I build up a larger watercolour paintings from my plein air pieces and photographs, plus learn to make a small lightweight single sheet eight page folding sketch book like the one I use while hiking.
Stay for the afternoon or just long enough to make a sketch book, ask a few questions and have a short chat.

I am very happy to share that two of my pieces were juried into the South Deltas Artists Guild’s Oil and Water Exhibition. You will be able to find Beacon and Chasing Morning (not yet up on my site) on display at the gallery from June 6 to 23rd. I’m very excited to be showing these pieces at the gallery as both paintings are very local scenes of the every beautiful Boundary bay that we live next too at its most spectacular times of day, in my opinion, sunrise and sunset.

It’s not every day I can walk to a group show I am exhibiting in, so I am extremely proud to share that I will be participating in the Southlands Art Show right down the street from my home in Boundary Bay. The exhibit, featuring local artists and celebrating resilience within our little seaside community, will be taking place alongside and next door to the annual Spring Market at the Read Barn. I am excited to share that this February I will be participating in the REACH Art Auction for Autism. Not only is this important to me because it will help support families in my community but it is also a cause that is close to my heart as my son is on the Autism spectrum. I’m happy to share that one of my watercolours of the Black Tusk in Garibaldie Provincial Park, Symphony, is available through the federation galleries online Exhibit for the Active Members Show. This particular view of the tusk is from Decker Mountain on the Blackcomb side of sining pass in the early summer with Whistlers colourful Symphony ridge in the foreground. >> find out more
So happy to announce that I have been accepted into the North Van Arts Rental Program for the third year in a row. Flower Stones and Chatterbox, from my ongoing Sea to Sky series, will be available starting in February from Cityscape Gallery in North Vancouver. If you’re not familiar with the program I highly recommend checking it out.
